Leader - Catherine Lindley

Catherine Lindley was born in Pinner and, last year, completed her Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music. She has studied with Richard Deakin, David Takeno and Jean Fiske, and is currently having lessons with Brien Stait. Catherine has appeared as soloist in Bruch’s G minor concerto with the Exeter Symphony Orchestra, Vivaldi’s ‘Spring’ with the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra and Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy at the St. Judes’ Proms in London. A keen chamber musician, Catherine won the Sir Edward Cooper prize as a member of the Galitzin Quartet which was also invited to play in a public master-class at the Wigmore Hall. Catherine was leader of the National Youth Sinfonia and a senior member of the National Youth Orchestra, participating in chamber concerts at the Cheltenham Festival. In 2004, together with other Academy and Juilliard students, she took part in a concert tour to New York with Sir Elton John. In addition to her performing activities, Catherine has taught violin and chamber music at Westminster School and set up a chamber music concert series in Pinner. She also enjoys learning martial arts and is a brown belt in Shotokan karate.
